History and Origin

The origins of white tea trace back to ancient China, where it was prized for its rarity and revered as the pinnacle of sophistication and wellness. The name “white tea” comes from the fine silvery-white hairs on the unopened buds of the tea plant, which give the plant a whitish appearance. Over centuries, white tea cultivation spread from China to other countries, but it remains a symbol of refinement and sophistication. WhisB has meticulously selected the serene highlands of Kerala, India, to cultivate its white tea, which is in line with its mission to offer unparalleled quality.

Why WhisB’s Wellness Campaigner

The distinguishing factor of WhisB’s Wellness Campaigner lies in its Kerala origin, which imparts a unique flavour profile that is delicate and mild, with a lot less caffeine compared to any other tea.  Kerala’s pristine environment, characterized by its gentle climate and fertile soil, is ideal for nurturing the delicate tea buds required for premium White tea. This signature White tea is crafted from the youngest and most tender tea leaves, handpicked with utmost care to ensure the highest quality. It is the least oxidised and processed tea, which doesn’t involve extensive firing, roasting, steaming, rolling, shaping and crushing of leaves. The minimal processing in its production preserves its natural antioxidants, making WhisB’s Wellness Campaigner a powerhouse of health benefits and a testament to the brand’s commitment to purity and wellness.

Preparation and Enjoyment

Should you boil White Tea?

No, you should not boil white tea. White tea is delicate and should be brewed at a lower temperature than boiling water to prevent the delicate flavours from becoming bitter or scalded. It is best to steep white tea in water that is around 160-180°F for optimal flavor extraction. Boiling white tea can ruin its subtle nuances and result in a less enjoyable cup of tea.

WhisB’s Wellness Campaigner encourages the savouring of its White Tea to maximise its health benefits and sensory experience.

Preparing WhisB White Tea

The ideal preparation involves steeping 3 grams of tea in water – just short of boiling for about two to five minutes. It is a process that delicately unfolds the flavours and aromas without overshadowing its inherent subtlety.

White tea’s versatile nature makes it perfect for those who appreciate its gentle original taste or wish to experiment with natural sweeteners or citrus notes for a personalized tea experience. Absolutely, both cold and hot preparations of tea offer their unique allure and deliciousness, catering to diverse preferences and occasions. Whether you’re seeking the comforting warmth of a hot brew or the refreshing coolness of an iced version, tea’s versatility shines through, ensuring a delightful experience with every cup.

Let’s make a cup of WhisB White Tea

Allow larger brewing space for the leaves to unfurl
Turn off the kettle just before boiling
Pour hot water over 3 grams of tea leaves
Steep for 2-5 minutes [mild to strong]
Time to strain
Sit down, Sip slowly & Satiate

Cold Brewing

Cold brewing White Tea is a great way to enjoy the delicate flavours and aromas of the tea without any bitterness. Cold brewing involves steeping 4 grams of White tea leaves for a cup, in cold water for an extended period of time, usually 6-12 hours, allowing the flavours to slowly infuse into the water. This method results in a smooth and refreshing tea that is perfect for hot summer days. White tea, known for its subtle and sweet taste, is particularly well-suited for cold brewing as it retains its natural flavors and remains light and crisp. Overall, cold brewing white tea is a delicious and easy way to enjoy a refreshing and healthy beverage.

Health Benefits

White tea is celebrated for its subtle, nuanced flavour and its impressive array of health benefits.

WhisB aims to highlight these health benefits and encourage a daily ritual that supports overall well-being.

Highest Antioxidant Levels

White tea is the least processed of all teas, which may result in the highest levels of antioxidants, potentially offering greater protection against oxidative stress and chronic diseases.

Cardiovascular Health

The flavonoids found in white tea can help relax blood vessels, reduce inflammation, and prevent the oxidation of LDL (bad) cholesterol, all of which contribute to a lower risk of heart disease.

Cancer Prevention

Like green tea, white tea contains polyphenols that may help reduce the risk of cancer by preventing cell mutations.

Skin and Oral Health

The antioxidants in white tea may also benefit skin health by reducing the risk of premature aging and protecting against UV damage. Compounds in white tea have also been shown to fight bacteria and viruses, improving oral health.

By championing white tea, WhisbB aims to spotlight its comprehensive wellness benefits and advocate for a beverage that nurtures both body and soul.
